Positive masculinity correspondence: FOI release

Information requested

Could you supply all briefing notes and minutes from meetings held by the Scottish Government, about positive masculinity, from between February 1 2024 until the date of this FOI. 

Could this include any correspondence sent and received by the government about this issue, not including internal correspondence?

Response

For clarity, I should explain that I have interpreted the request as including emails and/or attached documents that contain minutes from meetings concerning positive masculinity. To enable the request to be responded to without the cost limited being exceeded, I have interpreted 'briefing notes' to be any emails and/or attached documents which were prepared to provide advice to a minister or their Private Offices (not to or between officials) on positive masculinity policy development or presentation. I have therefore not interpreted briefing notes to extend to 'communications grids' which simply list upcoming events and showed the date of the planned debate in the Scottish Parliament.

I have also included correspondence between the Scottish Government and any external organisation or individual concerning positive masculinity policy intentions, development, delivery or presentation. I have not interpreted correspondence to refer to the provision by external organisations of documentation required as part of grant funding management. The information provided was obtained through a search of our electronic records document management system and searches of sent and received emails by relevant officials working in relevant policy areas including violence against women and girls and mental health. NB: For ease of reading, I have removed images, links and standard messages from the foot of emails where possible.
