Information requested

You asked for “the qualification details of the ‘practitioners’ who have been instrumental in determining” a particular Adult Disability Payment claim outcome.

Response

We have interpreted your request to be for information on the relevant, professional qualifications of the health and social care practitioner who advised during the processing of a specified application for Adult Disability Payment.

Advice is provided by a practitioner with relevant experience and/or specialism based on the case manager’s request.

Practitioners could be a:

  • registered nurse
  • registered mental health nurse
  • registered learning disability nurse
  • physiotherapist
  • occupational therapist
  • social care practitioner
  • social worker

Practitioners do not diagnose conditions or advise on treatment and are all Social Security Scotland staff members.

The practitioner who provided advice to the case manager in the instance you have requested information on is a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
