1. Please can you confirm when you last met with the charity?

4. Please can you provide any additional documents in which the offer of a donation in exchange for your time with Mr Hosking/ WAVE Trust was discussed.

Response

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.

The answer to your questions are as follows:

Question 1: I can confirm the First Minister last met with the WAVE Trust on 1 June 2022.
Question 2: Please see document 1 attached.
Question 3: I have reviewed all the documents related to the meeting on 1 June 2022 and I can confirm that the then-DFM did not engage with or accept Mr Hosking's offer of a donation to a charity of his choice.
Question 4: As per our answer to question 3, the then-DFM did not engage with or accept Mr Hosking's offer of a donation to a charity of his choice, so there are no documents we can provide regarding this.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption(s) under section(s) 38(1)(b)(personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. This exemption applies because the names of Scottish Government officials appear in the meeting note - you will see these have been redacted in document 1.

This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
