In the 5 years previous to, and the years following, the introduction of free tuition for Scottish university students:

The % of students who are Scottish and of those, the % who were born in Scotland and % of those who now call Scotland their home.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have all the information you have requested.

Under Section 17(1) of FOISA, the information on the % who were born in Scotland and % of those who now call Scotland their home is not held.

Information on the % of students who are Scottish domiciled between 2002-03 and 2021-22 is provided below. Free tuition typically covers students on undergraduate courses, as such the table below includes a breakdown for students enrolled across all years of study on a first degree course, and across all years for all courses.
