Response

Question 1

I have attached the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Equality and Human Rights (EHR) Fund Grant Offer Letters (GOL), which includes information on the terms and conditions of the grant, and total amount awarded to Stonewall Equality Ltd.

Both GOLs show payments made to Stonewall Equality Limited from the EHR Fund covering the period of the financial year 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

An exemption under section 38(1) (b) ‘Personal Information’ of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested. This has been applied to names, email addresses, contact numbers, pronouns and salutations where necessary. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

Question 2

For 2020 to 2024, the Scottish Government provides grant funding to organisations through the Equality and Human Rights Fund. Please see the below link for a list of all organisations who receive funding, and how much they receive each year, including Stonewall Scotland.

Equality and Human Rights Fund: projects funded - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

For funding to organisations who work with equalities communities in Scotland from 2017 to 2021, which includes Stonewall Scotland, please see the below link.

Equality funding: national and intermediary bodies 2017-2021 - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

Additional funding provided to Stonewall since 1st April 2019 has been attached in an Excel spreadsheet.

Question 3

The Lifeboat Fund is an official Scottish Government charity that civil servants can donate to. There is no dedicated funding support provided, donations are ad hoc and are related to activities decided by individual civil servants. The Civil Service Lifeboat Fund exists to help the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) save lives at sea. More information can be found here - The Lifeboat Fund | Help the RNLI save lives at sea.

In assessing your question, I have determined your query may also cover grants given to charities by the Scottish Government.

Through Third Sector core funding, we provide funding to a range of key infrastructure organisations who in turn support the wider third sector to support a range of outcomes. Please see this link for further information: Third sector core funding - Third sector - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).
