Income of Scottish Workers & Income tax rises: FOI release
Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
1. All documentation held by the Scottish Government, including correspondence, minutes/notes from meetings, briefing notes and policy notes, regarding the Centre for Cities report in January 2024 which revealed the income of Scottish workers has lagged more than £13,000 behind the rest of the UK since the SNP took power, from between January 1 2024 and March 1 2024.
2. All internal budget analysis and correspondence held about income tax rises from the last three months (24 April 2024 to 17 July 2024).
Response
In response to part 1) of your request, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. The reasons why we don't have the information are that having conducted a search of the Scottish Government information management systems, no documents were identified within the scope of your request.
In response to part 2) of your request, I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested in the attached PDF. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.
