Numbers of homes approved and completed under National Acquisition Programme: FOI release

Information requested

Information on the numbers of homes approved and completed in 2023-24 under the government’s national acquisition programme. The information requested is further detail for each local authority area in Scotland to the information supplied in response to Scottish Parliamentary Questions S6W-26978, and S6W-27110 by Mark Griffin.

The detail requested, separately for each local authority area in Scotland in 2023-24 is in the table below. The aim is to understand, for each local authority area:

• The balance between acquisitions for social let and affordable let. Comparing data in S6W-26978 and recently published AHSP statistics points to affordable let being around 6% of NAP approvals and completions, but this is likely to vary significantly between local authority areas.
• Balance between new build off the shelf purchases and second-hand acquisitions by local authority area distinguishing between houses acquired by local authority landlords from those acquired by RSLs.

Please note that in the response to the parliamentary question S6W-27110 dated 13 May 2024, the answer notes a total of 1,622 homes approved through the NAP. That figure was based on the information available to us at the time of responding, and has since changed, as noted in the tables above and attached, to 1,620 homes approved.
