Scottish Government Ministers or Officials in attendance at Paris Olympic Games 2024: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

1. The number of Scottish Government officials (specifying the number of ministers and civil servants) who attended the Paris Olympic Games in an a) official capacity and/or b) unofficial capacity and were paid for by the public purse.

2. The cost of the trips. Ideally the number of delegates, including the number of cabinet members or other ministers specified, length of stay, cost of travel, cost of accommodation, other costs included.

3. Any official receptions held by Scottish Government representatives in Paris during the Olympics. If any, who were in attendance and what type of event was it (ie dinner, cocktails etc) specifying overall costs.

Response

No Scottish Government Ministers or officials attended the Paris Olympic Games in an official capacity, nor did any Scottish Government Ministers or officials attend the Paris Olympic Games in an unofficial capacity paid for by the public purse. There were no official receptions held by Scottish Government representatives in Paris during the Olympics.
