Increase of minimum unit pricing documentation: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Documentation held by the Scottish Government about the increase of minimum unit pricing in Scotland sent and received from businesses and organisations, limited to minutes/notes from meetings, between April 1 2024 and July 1 2024.

Response

I enclose most of the information you requested in the format you asked for (Annex A - attached separately).

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why that exemption applies are explained below.

An exemption under section 38 (1)(b) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested. This relates to the personal information of people identified within the documents you have requested, specifically names, telephone numbers and email addresses.

This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
