Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

How many houses has the Scottish Government built each year since 2014?

Response

The Scottish Government does not directly build houses. Information on the number of affordable homes delivered annually since 2014 through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme can be found at:

Housing statistics quarterly update: new housebuilding and affordable housing supply - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

These can be found under the 'Affordable Housing Supply Programme Summary Tables - new style' and the 'Affordable Housing Supply Programme Summary Tables - old style.' Please note affordable homes provided through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme comprise homes for social rent, for mid-market rent and for low cost home ownership. These homes can take various forms including; new build homes, rehabilitation projects, conversions and off-the-shelf purchases of both new and second hand homes.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.
