Information requested

Correspondence between Scottish Ministers, the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers, the UK Short-Term Accommodation Association and/or Airbnb since January 2023.

Response

I have attached the compiled correspondence for your request. Correspondents often submit letters or e-mails to several ministers which are then allocated to the minister whose portfolio covers the content of the correspondence. To prevent your request from breaching the cost threshold and allow us to issue a response we have disclosed correspondence where it is between Scottish Government Ministers and one or more of the organisations you have named in your request, i.e. the organisation sent correspondence and Ministers replied.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, which we have done, some exemptions under section 38 (1) (b) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested.

An exemption under section 38 (1) (b) applies to a small amount of information requested because it is personal information/data. This exemption is not subject to the `public interest test' so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

Additionally under section 21, information that is publicly available has not been included in full in the response. Instead it has been linked to the relevant area of publication.
