Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) data protection breaches: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

The total number of data protection breaches that have occurred during each year since 2018 and for each breach reported, please provide the following:

(a) the year of the breach,

(b) if possible, the department involved,

(c) if possible, the number of individuals affected.

Please note that whilst our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) does not hold some of the information you have requested.

Therefore this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Student Awards Agency Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested.

You also requested us to provide information on whether any serious data breaches (as defined under GDPR) have failed to be reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within the legally required
72-hour period and the year of the breach.
