Minister for Equalities meeting with Stonewall Scotland: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You referred to a meeting which took place on 21 May 2024 between the Minister for Equalities and Stonewall and asked for minutes from the meeting, how long the meeting lasted and who attended.

Response

I enclose a copy of the minutes which you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information contained within the Minutes because an exemption under sections 38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to that information.

The exemption under Section 38(b) of FOISA has been applied as there was personal information which is exempt from disclosure. This information included people's names, and information relating to those people which could allude to their identity.

This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

The duration of the meeting was 45 minutes, and was attended by the Minister for Equalities, Kaukab Stewart, a member of staff from Stonewall Scotland, and three members of staff from the Scottish Government Equalities Division.
