How much does the Scottish Government pay each year to subsidise bus and rail travel?

Response

In the financial year 2023/24 the total in subsidies paid to bus operators was £45,334,290. This does not include concessionary travel reimbursement which is not a subsidy.

In this financial year 2024/25, total funding for the rail sector in Scotland will be £1.6 billion.
