1: All communications between the Scottish Government and the FCDO regarding Alex Salmond’s repatriation.
2: All communications between the Scottish Government and the Scotland Office regarding Alex Salmond’s repatriation.
3: All internal Scottish Government communications regarding its response to media inquiries or public inquiries regarding Alex Salmond’s repatriation.
Response
In response to parts one and two, I enclose a copy of the information you requested at Annex B. In response to part three, I enclose a copy of the information you requested at Annex C.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 28 (relations within the UK), 30(b)(ii) (free and frank provision of advice), 30(c) (effective conduct of public affairs) and 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why those exemptions apply are explained in Annex A.
