Information requested
"Was a public appointments panel or were public appointments panels involved in the process of reappointing (a) Ostergaard, (b) Macrae and (c) Ingram. If so, please name the members of the panel or panels relevant to each case. I hope these questions are clear and unambiguous".
Response
The answer to your question is: No, there was no public appointments selection panel involved in the recent reappointments of the David MacBrayne Ltd Board Chair (Mr Ostergaard) and its two Non Executive Directors (Mr Macrae & Mr Ingram). This is because selection panels are not required nor are they involved in any part of the reappointment process. The Ethical Standards Code of Practice does not require them.
Selection panels are for Board appointment campaigns. The Code of Practice for Ministerial Appointments, amongst other things, requires Ministers to agree the make-up of the panel. The details of the panel composition are included as part of the Applicant Information Pack which is available to all applicants and is publicly available at the time of any appointment campaign being advertised.”
