Information requested

1. Has the Scottish Government previously been contacted by Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre to discuss its concerns about its relationship with Rape Crisis Scotland?

2. If so, can you detail when such correspondence took place and what concerns were raised?

3. Has the Scottish Government received correspondence from any other Rape Crisis Centre in Scotland expressing concerns about its relationship with Rape Crisis Scotland?

4. If the answer is yes to (3) can you provide any details about this?

Response

The answer to your question is:

1. Yes, the Scottish Government has previously been contacted by Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre to discuss its concerns about its relationship with Rape Crisis Scotland.

2. Glasgow Rape Crisis contacted Scottish Government officials on 26 August 2024 to request a meeting, which was held on 19 September 2024. During the meeting, Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis informed the officials that its Board was considering disaffiliation from Rape Crisis Scotland due to feeling that the two organisations were no longer aligned.

3. No the Scottish Government has not received any correspondence from any other Rape Crisis Centre in Scotland expressing concerns about its relationship with Rape Crisis Scotland.
