Information requested

Total cost of heating Scottish Government buildings in the months of October, November December 2023, and January, February and March 2024 broken down by month.

Response

The table below shows the cost of heating core Scottish Government buildings where we pay the utility bills directly.

As assumption has been made for Gas, Electricity and Biomass that 70% of the total usage is for heating and 30% for domestic hot water. The table shows the cost of the 70% used for heating.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The cost of heating some leased buildings or buildings occupied under a MOTO (Memorandum Of Terms of Occupation) is included as part of a service charge and cannot be disaggregated.

This is formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not hold some of the information requested.
