Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
How many street lights are under management by Transport Scotland can by individual cities.
Response
Transport Scotland is responsible for managing and maintaining street lights only on the trunk road network and we do not hold information about roads managed and maintained by Local Authorities. You may wish to contact the individual Local Authorities for details of lights that they are responsible for. Contact details can be found by using the following link - Councils | COSLA .
Transport Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested because we do not store street lighting in a manner which allows us to break down the figures per city. However, Annex A provides a breakdown of the number of streetlights are on each trunk road, along with a total and I hope that this is helpful.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Transport Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested.
