Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture (SASA) Spend and Transparency data: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

I am looking for some guidance with reference to the Government’s Transparency Agenda, which requires public sector bodies like yours to publish details of spend value. I have been onto your organisation’s website but I am unable to locate your Spend/Transparency data.

https://www.sasa.gov.uk/

I would be grateful if you could advise where this information is available on your website.

Response

The answer to your question is SASA, like other core Scottish Government divisions does not individually publish information on spending, however, we complete internal commissions regarding SASA’s financial transactions and outturn at the end of the Financial Year. This feeds into the Scottish Governments consolidated accounts which are published annually.

Most of the information you have requested is available from The Scottish Government Consolidated Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024 - gov.scot. The Scottish Government also publishes monthly and annual reports of spend over £25,000 which includes information from SASA. Government spend over £25,000: monthly and annual reports - gov.scot.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
