Information requested

1. The total amount budgeted for General Practice IT reprovisioning over the past 3 years.

2. The total amount already spent (whether direct or distributed to Health Boards) on General Practice IT reprovisioning to date.

3. The total amount paid to INPS group in the past 3 years if you have paid directly.

Response

1. The funding budgeted for GPIT over the past 3 years totals £9.67 million. In 2024-25 the Scottish Government have provided £4.5 million in funding for GPIT. This was prior to the issues announced by Cegedim this past week. 

2. The total funding provided to fund GPIT since 2018-19 amounts to £11.79 million and is set out in the table below:

3. It should be noted that during financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21 funding was prioritised on the Scottish Government’s response to the COVID pandemic. No funding was provided to INPS group by Scottish Government directly.
