Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity meeting with Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers: FOI release

1. Since 8 January 2025 has the Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity met with the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers to discuss the reported problems the sector faces, particularly a potential shortage of red meat in Scotland?

2. If the answer to (1) is yes, can you share any minutes of that/those meeting(s)?

Response

The Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity has not met with the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers (SAMW) between 8 January this year and the date of your request. However, the Minister is due to attend a meeting of the Scottish Red Meat Industry Resilience Group on 18 February, which SAMW are due to be represented at. In addition, the Minister is due to meet directly with SAMW on 5 March.
