Trips to Spain and associated costs in connection with the Action Plan to Address Depopulation: FOI release

Information requested

1) The number of Scottish Government officials who made trips to Spain with their job titles.

2) Details of any MSP’s who undertook these trips.

3) Approximate costs of these trips broken down in to Dates, Travel, Accommodation, Hospitality and all other costs to give a total figure.

4) Similar details for any subsequent trips to Spain- after March 2023.

5) Similar details for any other trips outwith the UK in connection with the Action Plan to Address Depopulation.

Response

1) Two officials from the Scottish Government undertook to the trip to Spain. Under FOISA s38(1)(b), not all of the information you requested with regards to job titles could be released, due to exemptions around the release of personal data.

2) No MSPs undertook trips abroad in connection to the Addressing Depopulation Action Plan.

3) Please see table below. This cost breakdown represents the trip to Spain between 21 and 24 March 2023.
