GDP Monthly Estimate: April 2024

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


Scotland’s onshore GDP is estimated to have remained flat (0.0% change) in April. This follows upwardly revised growth of 0.5% in March and upwardly revised growth of 0.5% in February.

 

In the three months to April, GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.8% compared to the previous three month period. This indicates a slight improvement in Quarter 2 so far, after the unrevised growth of 0.7% in 2024 Quarter 1 (January to March).
