Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) Policy Statement - Easy Read
This policy statement provides an overview of the policy and legislative context for GIRFEC. The document gives an outline of the core components of the policy, including refreshed values and principles, and ambitions for how we can do more in practice.
Keeping the Promise
GIRFEC is part of our plan of how we deliver services for children, young people and families. It can add to family support.
Views of children and young people should be listened to. More should be done for people with experience of care. Relationships between brothers and sisters should be protected, they should kept together, where it is safe to do so.
