3. Additional Services
Meals services
From 2010, information was collected on every person who receives/uses a Meals Services (provided or purchased by the local authority) during census week.
Information was collected separately on the number of clients receiving a Hot Meals Service and the number of clients receiving a Frozen Meals Service during the census week. Eilean Siar and East Renfrewshire do not offer a Meals Service.

Note 31 clients receive both hot and frozen meals
As at March 2012, there were 9,652 clients receiving a Meal Service which was provided or purchased by the local authority. 13 per cent of these people were aged between 65 years and 74 years, 35 per cent were aged between 75 years and 84 years, and finally, 45 per cent were aged 85 years and over.
Community Alarm/Telecare services
Information was collected on every person who receives/uses a Community Alarm and/or another Telecare Service (provided or purchased by the local authority) during census week. Further detailed Community Alarm and Telecare tables are available in the annex.

As at the census week in March 2012, there were 110,088 people who had a Community Alarm and/or another Telecare Service. 82% of these people had a Community Alarm only.
