Human rights of children in Scotland: report - child friendly version
Child friendly/easy read version of our action plan 2021 to 2024 progress report.
10. How are children supported to be heard in decisions that affect their daily lives?
Speaking out can be difficult, so it’s important that children can get help when they need it to give their views. This is called advocacy.
Public authorities provide advocacy support for certain groups of children who are experiencing challenges or difficulties in their lives.
The Scottish Government also provides money to support organisations that provide advocacy services for groups of children, including those who need to attend a children’s hearing. We are considering what might help to strengthen advocacy support for the children and young people who need it most.
