Child friendly/easy read version of our action plan 2021 to 2024 progress report.
3. Our Action Plan 2021-24: What Have We Been Doing?
In 2021, the Scottish Government published an Action Plan setting out what we would do to help make sure that children’s rights are respected, protected and fulfilled in Scotland.
The Action Plan said that we would:
- Make the UNCRC the law in Scotland. This is called incorporation.
- Make sure children understand their rights and know how to complain if they think their rights are not being fulfilled.
- Look at how we involve children in our work and the decisions that affect them.
- Make sure that the people who work in public authorities know about and respect children’s rights.
Organisations who work with children helped us to listen to children and young people when we were developing the actions in the Action Plan.
This document will help you to understand what the Scottish Government has been doing in the last 3 years to make sure children’s rights are understood and protected in Scotland.
