Human rights of children in Scotland: report - child friendly version

Child friendly/easy read version of our action plan 2021 to 2024 progress report.

9. How we have involved children in our work and the decisions that affect them?

Organisations who work with children and young people help us listen to children’s views when we are making new plans for Scotland or developing new guides to help public authorities in their work.

Our new Children and Young People’s Participation Framework Agreement helps us to work with organisations who support children from a wide range of backgrounds. This makes sure that the Scottish Government listens to more children’s voices and views when making our plans.

The Scottish Cabinet and children and young people meet each year to discuss issues that matter most to children. Children and young people also meet with the Scottish Government’s Executive Team (ET) - the most senior civil servants in the Scottish Government.

These meetings with the Cabinet and ET make sure that children’s voices are heard at the highest levels of Government.
