Improving Wellbeing and Working Cultures

Improving Wellbeing and Working Cultures (IWWC), sets out the Scottish Government's vision to enhance working cultures across our health, social care and social work workforce, through programmes of work at a national level that focus on the pillars of: wellbeing, leadership and equality.

7. Improving Wellbeing and Working Cultures ‘In Action’ Guide

Our intention is to develop an Improving Wellbeing and Working Cultures ‘In Action’ Guide with partner organisations across health, social care and social work. This will expand on our vision and describe what individuals, teams and organisations can do to embed and promote good workplace culture.

This Guide will complement existing initiatives already in place in health, social care and social work, such as NHS Scotland Staff Governance Standards[9], Fair Work Principles[10] and the National Trauma Training Programme Leadership Pledge[11]. It will also reflect existing examples of good practice across health, social care and social work, which organisations may wish to replicate or adapt to support the needs of their respective workforce.

In Summer 2024, we will engage with organisations, teams and individuals to fully develop this work and encourage our partners and staff to share best practice and implement practical actions.
