Independent Oversight and Assurance Group on Tayside's Mental Health Services: workplans
Themed work plans for the Independent Oversight and Assurance Group on Tayside's Mental Health Services.
Theme: Integration
Timescales: January to end-June 2022
Recommendations: 2, 5, 13, 14, 16, 26
What we need to know
Need to understand the prioritisation process for Living Life Well which contains a significant number of different work streams and change programmes.
How has assurance been taken that patients and carers are aware of, and make use of, carer and advocacy services? What is the uptake and unmet need?
What we need to see
Recommendation 2 - TEP submission (2 February) stated that ‘the work to produce an overall whole system financial framework is at an early stage’ in respect of Living Life Well. The Oversight Group need to see this work.
Recommendation 16 - no previous response from partners. Evidence needed on the impact and sustainability in respect of the 7-day home treatment team service in Angus.
Next steps
Presentation by Tayside Executive Partners at the meeting with the Oversight Group on Monday 28 March on progress in respect of integration.
Need to review and provide reflection on the draft Integration Schemes.
Need to provide reflection on functioning of IJBs.
Need to see implementation of community mental health strategies in three local authority areas through site visits, especially 7 day service in Angus, plus community wellbeing hubs.
Need to see progress on the CORRA project in Dundee and DBI provision across Tayside through site visits.
Need to ensure that a focus of the response to the recommendations applies to LD as much as to MH.
Who we want to meet
Chief Executives of each local authority with Grant Archibald (before end May).
Chair and Vice Chair plus Chief Officers of each IJB (3 x meetings) (before end May).
Staff, volunteers, provider organisations, service users and carers in site visits involved in community MH provision (April/May).
Site visit to CORRA project and DBI provision across Tayside (May).
Possible meetings thereafter with full IJB from each area.
Visit to LD unit at Strathmartine, meet with carers and families, and staff.
