The Chair of the Independent Review of Adult Disability Payment is consulting on people's views about the first year of delivery. This will be used to help inform recommendations to ensure that Adult Disability Payment meets the needs of disabled people.

Local Delivery Service

Social Security Scotland says it provides a Local Delivery service that is available in every part of Scotland.

The Local Delivery service helps people with Scottish social security benefits in a place and at a time that suits them.

Independent Advocacy Service

The Scottish Government provides money for an Independent Advocacy Service by a charity called VoiceAbility.

VoiceAbility provides advocates to disabled people to help them engage effectively with Social Security Scotland.

VoiceAbility say they provide independent advocates to help people:

  • make sure they understand letters, application forms, phone calls and meetings with Social Security Scotland
  • help them understand what to do if they are not happy.
