Independent Review of Adult Disability Payment: consultation - easy read

The Chair of the Independent Review of Adult Disability Payment is consulting on people's views about the first year of delivery. This will be used to help inform recommendations to ensure that Adult Disability Payment meets the needs of disabled people.

Section 5 – The fluctuating conditions section of the Adult Disability Payment application form

A fluctuating condition is a disability or condition that can change often.

This may affect whether a person can get Adult Disability Payment.

Social Security Scotland say they look at whether a person can do an activity to an acceptable standard.

This considers the impact on the person, like whether it causes pain and tiredness.

Social Security Scotland say they also look at whether someone can complete an activity safely.

Completing an activity safely means the person can do the activity without harming them or someone else.
