Independent review into the Closure of The New School Buterstone (the Report): FOI release

Information requested

As regards the independent review into the closure of the New School Butterstone ("the Report"), published July 2020:

1. All individuals, organisations (including media), and third parties sent either a hard copy of the report or a link to the on-line copy
2. The number of occasions on which the Government’s web page containing the report link has been accessed as of today.
3. All Scottish Government communications regarding the publication of the report (including media briefings)

Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under sections 38(1)(a) (personal data of the applicant) and 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. You will note that where your personal information appears in the attached documents we have redacted this to protect your privacy.

1. Document 1 contains the emails sent by Scottish Government on publication of the Report.
2.  Web page https://www.gov.scot/publications/independent-review-closure-new-school-butterstone/ has been accessed 2604 times from the date of publication of the Report to the date of your request (14 October 2022).
3. (i) Document 2 contains an email from Learning Directorate to Education Scotland noting the text of a media release to accompany the publication of the Report.
   (ii) Document 3 contains an email noting that the Deputy First Minister and the then Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, was content with the media release.
   (iii) Document 4 contains a response issued to correspondence regarding the publication of the Report.
   (iv) Document 5 contains emails issued by Scottish Government regarding the publication of the Report.
