9. How will you communicate to children and young people the impact of the policy/measure on their rights?

Disclosure Scotland provides simplified explanations of the normal enhanced disclosure process on mygov.scot^[2]. Specific guidance on applying for a disclosure as part of the Ukraine sponsorship scheme is available^[3]. Our guidance is written at a reading level of 9 years old. Disclosure Scotland's helpline is also available to help people who have not previously completed an enhanced disclosure and who may require additional support.

Disclosure Scotland's privacy statement^[4] is written to be easily understood by customers. The data protection team is reviewing whether a specific child-friendly statement is required. Applicants are directed to it as part of the application process. A more in depth full privacy policy is also available via mygov.scot.
