Third-party representatives

People told me:

It is hard for people to organise for someone to talk to Social Security Scotland for them. This is called a third-party representative. They have to send in a special form.

I recommend:

Social Security Scotland should think about how their system can work better for third-party representatives.

They could think about if implicit consent could be used, like the Department for Work and Pensions use. This means that they can talk to someone’s third-party representative even if the person isn’t there.

Social Security Scotland should think about how third-party representatives can contact them more easily. This could be a separate phone line.
