Employment, unemployment and economic inactivity trends, sourced from the Labour Force Survey for Scotland and the UK.


Economic Inactivity estimates

The economic inactivity rate for people aged 16 to 64 years in Scotland was 23.1 per cent in April to June 2024. This is 0.3 percentage points down over the quarter and 0.1 percentage points down over the year.

The UK economic inactivity rate was 22.2 per cent in April to June 2024. This stayed the same over the quarter but was 0.7 percentage points up over the year.
