Employment, unemployment and economic inactivity trends, sourced from the Labour Force Survey for Scotland and the UK.
Unemployment estimates
The unemployment rate for people aged 16 years and over in Scotland was 4.4 per cent in April to June 2024. This stayed the same over the quarter but was 0.4 percentage points up over the year.
The UK unemployment rate was 4.2 per cent in April to June 2024. This is 0.2 percentage points down on the quarter and 0.1 percentage points down over the year.
