Employment, unemployment and economic inactivity trends, sourced from the Labour Force Survey for Scotland and the UK.


Employment estimates

The employment rate for people aged 16 to 64 years in Scotland was 74.2 per cent in May to July 2024. This is 1.2 percentage points up over the quarter but 0.5 percentage points down over the year.

The UK employment rate was 74.8 per cent in May to July 2024. This is 0.5 percentage points up on the quarter but 0.1 percentage points down over the year.
