Nursing and midwifery - Listening Project: You shared, we listened

The final report of the Listening Project which was the mechanism to ensure the voice of nursing and midwifery staff, students and academics helped shape the recommended actions of the Scottish Ministerial Nursing and Midwifery Taskforce.

Acknowledgements

Many people contributed to the Listening Project. Above all, we would like to thank the midwifery and nursing staff, students and academics who kindly made the time to participate. Their openness and honesty in the discussions and survey responses led to valuable insights that are key to this report. We understood from the positive reactions to the discussions that many appreciated being part of the Listening Project and having had the opportunity to share their views and experiences with the Scottish Government and each other.

We also want to thank everyone in the territorial and national health boards, social care sector and universities, as well as members of the Nursing and Midwifery Taskforce and subgroups who helped with organising the focus groups and distributing the surveys. It has been a huge undertaking which could only have happened with their collaboration.

Finally, we would like to thank those who shared their knowledge on aspects relating to the complexity underpinning some of the challenges raised by the midwifery and nursing staff, students and academics.
