Prosecutions from beginning of 2012 to 2014

  • On 03 November 2014 at Banff Sheriff Court, a 55-year old man was convicted of recklessly furnishing false information on an electronic logbook and fined £7,500.
  • On 10 October 2014 at Stornoway Sheriff Court, a 45-year old man was convicted of obstruction of a British Sea Fishery Officer and fined £6,000.
  • On 15 August 2014 at Stornoway Sheriff Court, a 42-year old man was convicted of retention of species after a closure and was fined £1,300.
  • On 23 July 2014 at Tain Sheriff, Court a 44-year old man was convicted of mis-recording of species and was fined £4,355.
  • On 08 July 2013 at Portree Sheriff Court, a 41-year old man was convicted of a breach of conditions associated with his fishing licence and was fined £1,000.
  • On 19 July 2012 at Banff Sheriff Court, a 33-year old man was convicted of retaining and landing haddock after a closure. He was fined £2,000.
  • On 15 May 2012 at Banff Sheriff Court, a 26-year old man was convicted of fishing within the Rockall Haddock Box and was fined £2,000.
  • On 20 March 2012 at Banff Sheriff Court, a 41-year old man was convicted of retaining on board and landing hake after a closure. He was fined £5,000.
  • On 07 February 2012 at Banff Sheriff Court, a 60-year old man was convicted of retaining on board and landing species after a closure. He was fined £3,000 for the offence, the sum being donated to the RNLI.
