Marketing of Organic Heterogeneous Material (OHM): consultation
Proposals to adopt EU regulations on the marketing of heterogenous seeds or plant material.
Financial implications
As with the variety listing and certification processes for conventional homogeneous varieties there would be costs associated with bringing OHM to market.
These costs have not been finalised yet, but are expected to include:
- fees associated with the registration of any population of OHM. This may include assessment, by the certifying authority, of documents to describe the material and demonstrate the production method
- fees associated with certification of seed lots. This would include fees associated with testing to ensure material meets sanitary quality, analytical purity and germination standards. This may also include fees associated with official controls and deemed necessary
