Question 16

Question 16A) To what extent do you agree with the proposed requirements in relation to the planning register as set out in Draft Regulation 9?

A total of 52 respondents answered this question. A majority – 76.9% of those who answered the question – strongly agreed or agreed with the proposed requirements in relation to the planning register, while 3.8% disagreed and 19.2% remained neutral. Organisations were more likely to agree or strongly agree than Community and Individual respondents, at 65% and 50% respectively. There were high levels of agreement from both the Development, Property & Land Management sector and Agents (78.5%), Planning Authorities (94.8%) and Third Sector (100%).

Summary /Themes

The responses were generally supportive with the proposed requirements in relation to the planning register. The supportive responses referenced that the proposals align with existing planning application processes, and as such was considered proportionate and transparent.

Two Community and Individual responses disagreed with the proposals and requested that the register must be publicly available and without a requirement for a Freedom of Information request.

Two Development, Property & Land Management sector & Agents responses suggested that all MCA schemes should be accessible via a single, accessible location online. These respondents recommended that the Scottish Government website contains a webpage with links to all MCA schemes in Scotland.
