A total of 50 respondents answered this question, which covered the approach to the impact assessments. A majority of respondents 54% answered strongly agree or agree, a significant proportion 44% remained neutral and only 2% disagreed or strongly disagreed. There were similar levels of responses agreeing or strongly agreeing from Planning Authorities (63.1%) and Key Agency & Other Public Sector (66.7%).

Summary /Themes

There were some divided views on the approach to the impact assessments for the regulations. The majority of respondents who answered were supportive of the proposed approach and thought that it was appropriate and consistent with existing arrangements.

One Development, Property & Land Management sector & Agent, one Key Agency & Other Public Sector and two Planning Authority responses made specific comments on the partial Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment (BRIA). They were concerned about resources and that without the ability for planning authorities to recoup costs it may be difficult for them to financially justify establishing an MCA within their area.
