2. Jigsaw identification means that while one piece of information may on its own seem innocuous, it may lead to the identification of a victim in breach of the anonymity protections when taken together with other information.

The Bill includes provisions which would enshrine into law an automatic lifelong right of anonymity for victims of sexual, the breach of which would be a criminal offence with a maximum penalty on conviction on indictment (i.e. before a jury) of 2 years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.
