June 2024 update

Recent activities:

  • secured our new Review Chair who is Professor Alex McMahon, our former Chief Nursing Officer
  • created a web-based option to enable Mental Health nurses to engage with the National Mental Health Nursing Conversation on an individual or group basis, and in all settings
  • completed engagement calls with local service leads who were organising and delivering local Conversations
  • worked with our Analytics Team to agree process and timescales for analysis of National Conversation feedback
  • made our literature review and other resources available via a digital workspace called Objective Connect
  • finalised planning for stakeholder events with Mental Health nurses who are working in the care home sector
  • the Leadership Advisory and Practitioner Reference Groups have had further meetings

Next steps include:

  • completion and reporting of thematic analysis from the National Conversations
  • considering feedback received from our Leadership Advisory group on how we maintain a focus on co-design as we progress the Review
  • working with colleagues who have expertise in design thinking to identify tools/techniques that we can utilise in defining Review themes
  • planning for a series of group interviews based on the thematic analysis
  • considering final recommendations from the Nursing and Midwifery Taskforce, and linkages to the work of the Review
