Ministerial contact time: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Please supply the content of all documentation regarding the preferences of all current Scottish Government ministers for working on or being contacted on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during anti-social hours, including preferences regarding a disinclination to work or be contacted during such days and times.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. I can confirm all Ministers have indicated they are available at weekends, when required, and regularly work on public holidays, weekends and evenings. The Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work & Energy, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Minister for Equalities, Migration & Refugees and Minister for Housing indicated a preference that, for anything that requires immediate attention during weekends and out of hours, a message should be sent drawing their attention to it.

We do not hold any information on preferences during anti-social hours or a disinclination to work or be contacted during such days and times.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
