GDP Monthly Estimate: July 2024

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.

Executive summary


Scotland’s onshore GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.3% in July. This follows 0.0% change in June (revised up from -0.3%).

In the three months to July GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.3%. This is a decrease compared to the Quarter 2 (April to June) growth rate of 0.6%.  

In July, the two industries which made the biggest contribution to overall GDP growth were Manufacturing and Information and Communications Services, both of which contributed 0.1 percentage points of growth to headline GDP.
