GDP Monthly Estimate: June 2024

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


Scotland’s onshore GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.3% in June. This follows  growth of 0.2% in May.

In the three months to June (Quarter 2), GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.6% compared to the previous three month period (Quarter 1). This is a slight increase on the Quarter 1 growth rate of 0.5%.

In June, the largest contribution to headline GDP in was Electricity & Gas Supply, which contributed 0.3 percentage points to headline GDP. The largest contribution to the contraction was Manufacturing, which contributed -0.2 percentage points to headline GDP.
