11. Barnahus – or Children's House – is a model which originates from the United States Child Advocacy Centres and has been carried to countries around the world, including Iceland and South Africa. It was one of the models of practice considered by the 2015 report of the Evidence and Procedure Review.
The model provides child-centred and integrated justice, healthcare and ongoing therapeutic social care services all under one roof, often in a purpose built child-friendly accommodation
